A Benton County judge has approved a bond for a mother facing charges in connection with the death of her 4-year old daughter in December of last year.

Mary Mast and her husband, James Mast, are both facing charges in connection to the incident.

The Masts are accused of allowing their four-year-old daughter to be severely beaten and failing to provide aid and protection. Mary Mast is also accused of dunking her daughter in a pond, resulting in her death.

Mary Mast is charged with one count of felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child resulting in the child’s death and one count of felony Domestic Assault resulting in serious physical injury.

James Mast is charged with one count of felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child resulting in the child’s death and one count of felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child resulting in serious physical injury. James Mast was granted a bond of $500,000.

Court documents say that neighbors of the Mast’s, 35-year-old Ethan Mast, no relation to the accused, and 21-year-old Kourtney Aumen had been regularly beating the Mast family for two weeks before the four-year-old victim being beaten and forced into a pond, resulting in her death.
