Wright County Woman accused of shooting her husband

A Grovespring woman was arrested on December 22nd following an investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a residence on Smittle Cave Road for a reported shooting. At the scene they found the victim with gunshot wounds to his chest and left shoulder, and claiming that he had accidentally shot himself. However, when an investigator was speaking to the victim’s wife, Jackie Ann Mayne, she allegedly spontaneously made statements admitting to shooting the victim, but said she didn’t mean to. Mayne, who is a convicted felon is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, armed criminal action and felony domestic assault, with a bond of $50-thousand-dollars. A bond hearing for Mayne is set for January 2nd.
