The annual Wreaths Across America ceremony will be taking place this morning at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, located at 25350 Highway H near Waynesville at 11 o’ clock. The ceremony will be free and open to the public, and the community is invited to attend.
1018 red-ribboned wreaths have been put in place for the ceremony.
The cemetery will close to thru traffic at 9 o’ clock this morning in preparation for the ceremony. Parking at the cemetery will be limited to those with disabled plates and placards. Shuttle service will be provided to all others from the gravel lot on Polla Road.
“Wreaths Across America” is a nation-wide holiday wreath-laying ceremony to honor and remember our nation’s veterans. The event is coordinated to honor veterans of each branch of the military, as well as the Merchant Marines, Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action.
