World Hepatitis Day

Today is World Hepatitis Day, a day to bring awareness to a disease characterized by the inflammation of the liver. In 2010 the World Health Organization made World Hepatitis Day one of only four official disease-specific world health days. Kim Smith with the Laclede County Health Department explains more about the disease.

Smith says it’s important to get tested if you have any of the symptoms and make sure to wash your hands when preparing food.
