World Food Day

Today(fri) is World Food Day, which is the fight to end global hunger. In Laclede County, one way to fight hunger is to give to local food pantries; or, you can give to Community Cares during the Campaign of Caring. Each year, Community Cares grants funds to non-profit agencies that provide food to Laclede County residents. Lebanon Area Foundation Executive Director Melinda Fries says the donations to Community Cares supports the backpack program which provides weekend food for kids, the local food banks, and more.

The Campaign of Caring continues, and if you would like to give, you can drop off your donation at most drive-through banking locations, at Lebanon City Hall, at Laclede Electric Cooperative or at the Offices of the Chamber of Commerce.
