Woman who stole over $2,800,000 to shop sentenced to prison

A Sunrise Beach woman was sentenced to 17 years in prison for embezzling nearly $3-million from a Lake of the Ozarks Marine Business. For 6 years, Danielle Thomas forged checks from her employer’s accounts in amounts that added up to around $2.8-million dollars. Thomas has been convicted of stealing for which she was sentenced to ten years and forgery for which she was sentenced to seven years to run consecutively. Thomas was ordered to pay more than $1.5-million in restitution. According to the courts, Thomas stole the money to make payments on credit cards.
