Woman charged with child abuse after punching her daughter

A Rogersville woman is facing child abuse charges in Webster County. On Sunday, 36-year-old Emilia Marques walked into the police department reporting that she had an altercation with her daughter. Shortly after, her young daughter was brought into the police department by a neighbor. The victim reported that Marques attacked her, threw her to the ground, and punched her in the face. After the attack on the girl, Marques reportedly told her to get out of the house. According to the police report, when she was forced out of the house, it was around 30 degrees out and the girl didn’t have a coat. Emilia Marques is charged with abuse or neglect of a child with a bond of $20-thousand-dollars.
