Woman accused of hiding a felon

A woman from Eugene is facing charges after allegedly hiding a man who had warrants for his arrest. Officers with the Osage Beach Police Department went to the Baymont Hotel to serve a warrant for a man who had a warrant for a parole violation on felony charges, and failure to appear in court. The officers went to the room where Christy Austin was staying and told officers that the man, identified as Austin Witt was not there. After the officer left, he was informed that Witt had contacted someone and told them he was in the room and to signal him to let him know if police were coming back. The officers found Witt hiding behind a chair in the room with Austin. Christy Austin is now charged with hindering prosecution of a felony.  She is currently free on bond of her own recognizance.
