Missourians are in for a rude awakening as we turn the page from 2021 to 2022. After seeing the second-warmest December in history, the first round of winter weather could move in on Friday night and Saturday morning. Steve Lindenberg, with the National Weather Service in Springfield, says we could see flooding rains, and a mixed bag of wintry weather, to ring in the new year.

Wind chills could fall below zero in some areas on Saturday night, and temperatures could remain below freezing all day Sunday. The good news is the wintry blast won’t last long. By Monday we’ll once again have high temperatures in the 50’s.
