The Army Engineer Association industry exhibition will be taking place again today from 8 a-m to 5 p-m at Nutter Fieldhouse on Fort Leonard Wood. This event showcases some of the latest engineering technology. The event is open to anyone with access to Fort Leonard Wood. On Tuesday, the winning team in this year’s Best Sapper Competition was announced as number 17, the team of 1st Lieutenant Eric Mattia and Captain Alaimoana Paunga from the 20th Engineer Batallion, 36th Engineer Brigade from Fort Bliss, Texas. A two-day Senior Engineer Leadership Council will begin this morning at 8:15 in Lincoln Hall Auditorium. Major General Richard Heitcamp, deputy commanding general of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, will be the special guest speaker.
Today is Engineer Family Day with events scheduled from 9 a-m to 1 p-m at Training Area 244. A Fallen Sapper Tribute will be held Thursday evening at 6 o’clock at Sapper Memorial Grove to memorialize the lives and service of fallen engineers lost in war and support operations. An Engineer Regimental Ball and Awards Ceremony will take place in Nutter Fieldhouse Friday evening at 7 o’clock.
