WIC offers more food choices applicants for services invited

Parents and guardians of children under 5 are encouraged to check their eligibility for the WIC program which provides free access to certain healthy foods. WIC Supervisor in Laclede County Tracy Legan said they have just released some new additions to the acceptable food list.

The main objective of the WIC program is to make sure that all children under the age of 5 have access to healthy foods. To find out if you are eligible in Laclede County, call the WIC office at 417- 532-1271, or stop by Monday through Thursday at 405 Harwood Avenue, but they are closed from 11:30 am to 1pm. Legan said they will have a walk-in day on the Last Wednesday of each month starting in November.
