Weight Gain During Midlife
More people are seeing a gain in their weight after they hit the mid age in their life. The weight gain changes because there are changes in hormones and estrogen in their body, and those hormones are worse for females. Midlife changes because people usually aren’t running their kids around all the time because their kids are moved out. People are also going out to eat more, and cooking less because they have more income since their kids are no longer living with them. Mercy Clinical Dietitian Stacy Wright says that people are gaining more weight because of the extra money they have.
To make sure you’re keeping the weight you want it’s good to set a schedule for when you are going out so you aren’t going out to eat all the time. Eating at home and having leftovers is just fine.
