A car tractor-trailer accident at 5:40 Saturday night sent a Springfield woman to the hospital with serious injuries. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a car driven by 20-year-old Morgan K. Ellis of Springfield Hydroplaned on I-44 in the westbound lane, 12 miles West of Lebanon, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the median cables, returned to the highway, crossed the center line hitting a tractor-trailer driven by 25-year-old Mohamed A. Hassan of Minnesota. Ellis was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Hassan did not report any injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

 

Meanwhile 3 Montreal Missouri residents suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision in Camden County on route A one-half mile west of Freedom Ridge Road at 9:25 Saturday morning. A pickup truck driven by 53-year-old Nicky T. Winn crossed the center of the road and struck a car driven by 67-year-old Jerry W. Allee. A passenger in the Allee vehicle, 63-year-old Deborah L. Allee, along with both drivers were transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. The Allees were wearing a seatbelt, Nicky Winn was not. Winn now facing charges of DWI, resulting in serious physical injury, failure to drive on the right side of the road, no valid driver’s license, and failure to properly affix a license plate.
