Webster County Fire Claims 3 Year Old Child

Webster County officials say a child died in a house fire Monday afternoon near Rogersville. Fire departments responded to the fire around 1:30 p.m. on Ozark Church Road off Missouri Route B near Panther Creek.

The child’s grandfather was taking care of the child when the blaze broke out. He suffered major burns but got out of the burning structure and was taken to a hospital in Springfield.

The body of the three-year-old child was found in the bathroom of the home.

The victims’ names have not been released, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
