(Waynesville)–Waynesville High School has announced its top graduating seniors for the 2020 class. Anna Hilburgh has been named as the candidate for Valedictorian of the class and Evan Nitchman has been named as Salutatorian candidate.
The selections are based on the highest grade point average to 3 decimal places at the end of the 7th semester, meeting college prep requirements of an ACT above the national average, having taken a minimum of 5 advanced classes, having taken two years of a foreign language, and having a 95-percent attendance rate or higher. Providing social distancing restrictions due to COVID-19 have been lifted by mid-June, the Waynesville Board of Education has set graduation for the W-H-S Class of 2020 for Friday, June 19th, at 7:30 p-m, at Waynesville High School’s Tiger Stadium. Graduation will be moved inside in the event of inclement weather. In the event that social distancing restrictions have not been lifted by mid-June, graduation will be held on July 18th.
