The Waynesville School District is reminding high school seniors and parents that there are part-time service opportunities available with the Waynesville AmeriCorps.
Some of the benefits include a living allowance totaling $5,300, and the Segal Education Award of $1,374.60 for completing 300 hours of service by the end of summer school next year. Waynesville High School senior class members who serve part-time on AmeriCorps service projects will do their service after school from 3 to 6 p.m., with no weekend hours They can even work around sports and extra-curricular seasonal schedules. The high school senior must be at least 17 years of age, agree to obtain a high school diploma and be a U. S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
