(Waynesville)–The Waynesville School District will continue virtual learning and its buildings will remain closed to students through Friday, April 3rd due to the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, in a Pulaski County resident. Students will return to school buildings on Monday, April 6th.
“We prefer that students be in our classroom learning, but the next best option is virtual learning and our teachers and families are adapting to the new normal,” said Dr. Brian Henry, superintendent. The district is working on plans to minimize the number of messages being sent to families.
“We are listening to our families and will continue to make adjustments to better accommodate our families; however, our students will continue to go to school virtually,” Henry said. “Education is of the utmost importance and we will not sacrifice your child’s education.”
