Waynesville PTO Wins 20-thousand Dollars in Box Tops For Education Sweepstakes

East Elementary’s Parent Teacher Organization has won $20,000 in the Box Tops for Education Sweepstakes and has donated it to East Elementary.
East Elementary Principal Renee Hays says, “At first, I was in disbelief when I looked at the check. I assumed that the $20,000 must be an error, but we investigated it and we are the sweepstakes winner.”
East Elementary is conducting a survey of its teachers and staff to determine how best to use the funds.
Hays says, “I feel like we won the lottery! We have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something special. I don’t know what that will be because we are gathering ideas, but it is so exciting to dream about all the things that $20,000 can do to benefit students.
