The Waynesville Finance and Human Resources Committee has been approved for a grant from the National Fitness Campaign. The grant is $25,000 and will be put towards a Fitness Park in Roubidoux Park. City of Waynesville Finance Officer Amber Box said the park is for all ages and will be completely free.

The park total estimate is about $140,000, and Box said funds from last year were set aside for projects in the park and will be utilized, and the budget will be adjusted. Box also said the goal of the park is to provide free fitness for all.

A resolution to move forward with the grant will be presented at The Waynesville City Council Meeting today (Thursday).
