(Waynesville)–Waynesville High School is set to graduate 363 students this evening at 7:30 in Tiger Stadium. Of these graduating seniors, 145 have completed the requirements to receive the A-Plus Scholarship that pays higher education tuition for two years…27 students with grade point averages of 3.5 or greater to receive the Presidential Award of Excellence…36 students who received the George Washington Carver Award for outstanding achievement…107 students who earned career and technical education…28 students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society…and 20 students who enlisted in military service or joined R-O-T-C. Anna Hilburgh was named class valedictorian and Evan Nitchman was named class salutatorian.
Each graduating senior who attends morning practice at 10 a-m will receive three tickets to give to guests who want to attend this evening’s ceremony. Entry to the parking lot this evening and to the ceremony will be limited to ticket holders only. All attendees, including guests and graduates, will be expected to wear masks on their way in and out of the ceremony.
Masks will be provided for the graduates. During the ceremony, all individuals who are socially distanced from non-family members may remove their masks. Social distancing guidelines will continue to be enforced for graduates and guests.
