The Waynesville School District’s Transportation Department received a 100% passing rate on a surprise bus safety inspection by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Tuesday, October 26th.
Transportation Director Karl Wilking says, “This is proof that we strive every day to make sure our buses are safe for our students. “It takes the entire team — drivers, mechanics, and office staff – working together to make this perfect score possible.” During a surprise inspection, the patrol randomly selects 10 percent of all of the district’s buses and then reviews hundreds of safety items to ensure each bus is meeting the standards. The inspection included items such as light bulbs, tires, seat frames, exhaust systems, brakes, windshield wipers, and many other school bus components.
