The speed limit going down the Waynesville Hill from the east into Downtown Waynesville currently changes abruptly from 40 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour as a motorist approaches a three-way stoplight. There is a sign announcing the speed limit change up ahead to warn motorists, but members of the city council want the Missouri Department of Transportation to change the speed limit at that sign to 30 miles per hour and then keep the 25 miles per hour sign where it is. That way there wouldn’t be such an abrupt slow down for motorists coming into Waynesville. The city council voted on Thursday evening to ask the Missouri Department of Transportation to agree to their request to modify the speed limit zones on the westbound city route.
