Waters on the Big Piney River near Edgar Springs and at the East Gate of Fort Leonard Wood are now within their banks, or close to it. The crest came overnight near Edgar Springs at 11.25 feet, almost 3 feet above the flood stage. As of 5 this morning, the water level was 7.17 feet and falling. At Fort Wood’s East Gate, the water level at 6 o’ clock was 7.2 feet after a crest of 9.86 feet overnight. The flood stage there is 7 feet. The Roubidoux Creek at Waynesville hit a crest of 8.59 feet Tuesday afternoon, about a foot and a half over the flood stage. It stood just under 5 feet at 5:30 this morning.
