Watch those water bills as gardening season begins
The spring garden planting season is beginning, and because your sewer bill is calculated by the amount of water you use, watering your garden can cause that bill to increase significantly. In Lebanon, water utility customers have the option of checking out a temporary meter, which attaches to your faucet or garden hose. Lebanon City Administrator Mike Schumacher says there is a $50 deposit on the temporary meter, which is refundable
At the end of the season, you will return the meter to city utilities and that amount will be deducted from your sewer bill. To check out the temporary water meter, contact Lebanon City Utilities at the drive-thru window for the required paperwork. Once the paperwork is completed, a city employee will meet you at the door to pick up your meter. If you have questions about the program call Lebanon Utilities at 532-2345
