Three new spots will be filled on the Lebanon Laclede County Wall of Fame in 2023. Starting in 2022, the Wall of Fame is dedicated to folks who made an impact on Route 66. Gary Sosniecki with the Lebanon Laclede Route 66 Organization was on Community Ties on Kbnn and says that Marie Williams owned five motels, and two were on Route 66.
Unfortunately, Williams’s Husband Forrest “Tiny” Luper passed away, and Williams married Bill G. Williams. Together they bought a new hotel on Route 66.
Williams served on the Missouri Tourism Commission for six years, and in 1969 was recognized with a citation of honor by the U.S. Motel Association.
Joining Williams on the Wall of Fame will be J. Floyd Caffey, and the Harris Family- Father Sim, Son Barney, and Barney’s Wife Marie.
