Voters Could Decide Missouri Abortion Rights
Missouri voters could decide as early as 2024 whether abortion rights should be added to the state Constitution. Eleven proposed initiative petitions have been filed by a group called Missourians for Constitutional Freedom. After last year’s U.S. Supreme Court abortion ruling, Missouri immediately banned the right to almost all abortions. The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office reviews the initiative petition proposals to decide if the group is allowed to gather signatures in an attempt to put the question on the ballot.
