The state’s veterans’ homes have been working to correct problems that led to a deadly COVID outbreak in the fall. As of last week- there are NO active cases of the coronavirus among veteran patients at the 7 homes. There are still – some – staff recovering from the virus.
A challenge now is getting staff, especially those who work daily with patients, to take the vaccine. Ryon Richmond is deputy director of the M-V-C and says only 37 percent have taken the shot.
