Updated list of Pulaski County Candidates for the August Primary
The field of GOP candidates for Pulaski County office in the August primary increased by two this week. The latest candidates to file have been Terry Richardson and Joe Leuthen for the two-year unexpired term of western district commissioner. Richardson and Leuthen join current western district commissioner Clinton Jarrett, Andy Helms, and Michael Hartley, who filed earlier for that office. So far, no Democrat has filed for that post. Right now, Democrat Colin Long has filed for re-election as Associate Circuit Judge, Magistrate division, and Republican Mike Headrick has filed for re-election as Associate Circuit Judge, Probate division. There are two Republicans who have filed for Presiding Commissioner of the County–the current Presiding Commissioner Gene Newkirk and challenger Joseph Krill. David Ernst, Republican, has filed for re-election as county clerk. Democrat Rachelle Beasley has filed for re-election as circuit clerk and recorder of deeds.
Mack Wilkerson and Lorna West have filed as Republicans for county treasurer. Kevin Hillman, a Republican, has filed for re-election as prosecuting attorney. Republican county collector Terri Mitchell has filed for re-election as county collector. Next Tuesday, March 29th, is the last date to file for county, state, and federal office for the August primary.
