Missouri Southern State University in Joplin is researching the prevalence of hunger among the state’s college students. Andrea Cullers is a professor and the co-director of the school’s food and personal hygiene pantry. The study will involve college students in every region of the state and cover public, private, community college, and technical school, students. She says the effort will include a toolkit to connect students with federal nutritional benefits.

The university has received a 25-thousand-dollar grant from the Fahs -Beck Foundation to survey 15-hundred Missouri students and hold focus groups to delve into the survey questions.
