Voters in the Doolittle area of Phelps County will have two ballot issues to decide in the April election. They will be deciding the fate of a property tax levy increase for the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District. The district is seeking an increase of 24.3 percent to 25 cents on every $100 dollars of assessed valuation. The current levy is 22.57 cents per hundred. A half-cent sales tax increase is being sought by the City of Doolittle for the community’s general revenue fund. If approved by the voters, the general revenue sales tax in Doolittle would increase to 2-cents from 1.5 cents.
