Two Dead Following I-44 Webster County Crash

Two are dead following a two-vehicle accident at 3:38 Tuesday afternoon on I-44, 3 miles west of Marshfield in Webster County. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a car driven by 56-year-old Christopher B. Maples of Strafford was traveling west when he lost control and ran off the westbound lane of the interstate, went airborne, and rolled over the median cables into the eastbound lane, and struck a car driven by 47-year-old Melanie S. McDaris of Hartville. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. McDaris was wearing a safety device, but Maples was not.
