Twenty-one young women are competing this week to become the next Miss Missouri and there is a local connection

Twenty-one young women are competing this week to become the next Miss Missouri. Matt Pilger with Missourinet affiliate KXEO in Mexico reports.

One of the contestants will be Donna Gilbert, the daughter of Carla and David Gilbert of Waynesville, who is representating the St. Louis area as Miss Spirit of St. Louis. Donna is a psychology major and sociology graduate of Coastal Carolina University.
Through the Miss Missouri organization, Donna’s social impact initiative is “Show Me Service”. Through this program, she encourages Missourians to become active in their communities with organizations that have impacted their lives.
