Triple A will not offer estimate of how many drivers will hit the road for Memorial Day
How many people will be taking to the nation’s highway for the Memorial Day weekend? For the first time in 20 years, Triple-A will not be venturing an estimate due to the COVID-19 outbreak. “With social distancing guidelines still in practice,” a Triple-A Travel senior vice president said, “this holiday weekend’s travel volume is likely to set a record low.” According to Triple-A, Memorial Day 2009 currently holds the record for the lowest travel volume in recent history at nearly 31-million travelers, more than 26-million of whom traveled by motorized vehicles.
