Trial For Pulaski County Woman Scheduled For Next Year

A trial date of March 12 of next year has been set for a Pulaski County woman accused of stealing more than $300,000 from the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop.

Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Hillman has charged 39-year-old Lacie D. Karr of Richland with one count of stealing.

The investigation began a year ago when a member of the organization’s Board of Directors was notified that Karr had made questionable transactions on the workshop’s account. The board then had online access to the account closed to Karr, who resigned later that day.

Karr is charged with felony stealing of more than $25,000 between January 1, 2014, and October 26, 2021. The shelter says the actual loss is at least $320,000.

Karr was questioned after an employee noticed questionable transactions in the shelter’s accounts.

According to court documents, the shelter’s debit card was used to make several unauthorized purchases at Target, Walmart, Victoria’s Secret, AT&T, and other retailers.
