Traffic stops result in 2 separate arrests for felony drug charges in Camden County

A woman from Osage Beach is facing felony charges after being found in possession of illegal substances. On Friday, January 26th, a Camden County Deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that had the wrong license plate. The deputy then brought in a K9 unit and the dog allegedly alerted on the vehicle for illegal substance. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue. The driver, Ashley Elkins was taken into custody, but denied that the pipe was hers. Elkins was taken to the Camden County Jail to be processed, and was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine. Elkins is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Another traffic stop, this time in Lake Ozark resulted in another drug arrest in Camden County. The Deputy reported that as he apprached the vehicle he noticed the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle, and saw a marijuana pipe laying between the seat and console. The drivers license of John Alexander came back as revoked and he was taken into custody. When the deputy searched him, Alexander allegedly had a baggie of psilocybin mushrooms, two bags of methamphetamine, and two pills believed to contain fentanyl in his pockets. John Alexander is charged with 3 counts of felony possession of a controlled substance. His next day in court is set for February 2nd.
