(Waynesville)–AmeriCorps VISTA, in partnership with the Waynesville School District, is hosting a school supply drive called “Tools for Schools” to create individual “toolboxes for kids” that will contain everything – from headphones to pencils – that a Waynesville District student needs to start the school year. The supply kits will go to students who have the need.
Individual items, complete kits, and/or cash donations may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Saturday, and Sunday at the “Stuff the Bus” event at Walmart in St. Robert.
An average toolbox costs $40 and individuals may donate funds directly toward the program by making a check to the Waynesville School District and mailing it to the Community Resource Office, 12225 Pulaski Avenue, Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473, or by dropping it off at the School District Administration Office, 200 Fleetwood Drive in Waynesville. Please note “school supplies” in the memo line or on the envelope. Donations may also be dropped off at the Snack In A Pack Room located on the west side of Williams Early Childhood Center, 12225 Pulaski Avenue, Fort Leonard Wood. Individuals should wear masks and practice social distancing. The drive will continue through Aug. 14th.
