Fort Wood Gets Ready For Holiday Block Leave

Today is the last day for Pulaski County homes, organizations, and businesses to sign up for participation in the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce Light Up Pulaski County holiday lights contest. The registration fee is $50 for businesses and $25 for non-profit organizations and residential locations. The best residential display with an organized appearance or theme will receive the North Pole Award. The best decorated non-profit will get the Santa’s Helper Award. The best-decorated business will receive the Keep It Local Award. The best traditional decorations will get the Spirit of Christmas Award. The best high-tech lighting will clinch the Northern Lights Award. And, the public will decide on the People’s Choice Award. Judging by the community for the People’s Choice Award will take place from December 8th through the 18th. All other judgings will occur Thursday, December 15th, through Saturday, December 17th, between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. Winners will be announced December 19th.
