Timothy Norton Appears In Dallas County Court Tuesday

In Dallas County, Timothy Norton, the man accused with James Phelps of murder, kidnapping, and abandonment of a corpse, in 2021, appeared in court on Tuesday.

Phelps admitted there was enough evidence to convict him of similar charges. Phelps was subsequently sentenced to life in prison.

However, Norton did not enter a similar plea, and a new hearing has been scheduled for June 27th. Prosecutors have confirmed that the trial will remain in Dallas County.

The case came to light in mid-September when FBI investigators received photos from an anonymous source showing the victim, Cassidy Rainwater, in a cage. Detectives from Dallas County recognized Rainwater, who was found partially nude in the images. Subsequently, seven photos of Rainwater were found on Phelps’ phone.
