Tickets are on sale now for the Missouri University of Science and Technology student production of “Heathers: The Musical.” Performances will be held at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There also will be a matinee performance this coming Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. All performances will be at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, located on the Missouri S&T campus at the corner of 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Based on the 1989 film, the musical takes place at Westerberg High School, ruled by Heather, Heather, and Heather, a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing junta. Veronica Sawyer rejects their regime for a new boyfriend, J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place — 6 feet under. Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for Missouri S&T students with a valid student ID. The musical includes depictions of murder and suicide and is recommended for audiences ages 16 and older. Tickets can be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office, located inside the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can also be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to tickets purchased online or by phone. Leach Theatre will adhere to current Missouri S&T policies and CDC guidelines for masks and social distancing at the time of each performance or event.
