Thursday was sentencing day for 40-year-old Lacie D. Karr of Richland, who entered a plea of guilty on April 21st in Circuit Court in Pulaski County to the Class D felony charge of stealing. Senior Judge Sidney Pearson sentenced Karr to a 7-year term in the Department of Corrections but granted her probation for a period of five years. She was ordered to serve 120 days of shock incarceration in the Pulaski County Jail in Waynesville–30 days of shock incarceration within the confines of the jail and 90 days to be determined later. Karr was ordered to pay restitution totaling $366,000 to the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney at a rate of 25 percent of her gross income.
Karr was the head of the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop in Richland when the funds were reported missing. Judge Pearson has scheduled December 18th for a review of Lacie Karr’s restitution and jail time
