Three of Waynesville High School’s choirs received the highest rating – exemplary – during the 2021 MSHSSA Large Ensemble State Contest. Choirs submitted their performances via pre-recorded videos in April. The WHS Chamber Choir, Advanced Women’s Choir, and the Large Women’s Choir each received an exemplary rating. The Tenor-Bass Choir received an outstanding rating. Choirs are marked on a scale of exemplary, outstanding, satisfactory, developing, and ineffective. In their critique of the performances, the judges’ comments included the following, “The Waynesville Choirs are amazing … A very musical group with the maturity of an advanced group … The tone I am hearing reminds me of Texas choirs and some very fine choirs from Missouri. I am truly impressed.”
