This month is on track to becoming the second warmest December on record in several Missouri locations. National Weather Service records show this month has been a near record-setter in Springfield and Columbia. The record for the month was set more than a hundred years ago before global warming and climate change became a part of our vocabulary. The warmest December was observed back in 1889 for many locations where readings were taken in the state.
