This is the first day that candidates can file for the General Municipal Election in April

This is the first day that candidates can file for the General Municipal Election in the spring in Missouri. According to the Secretary of State’s office, candidate filing for the General Municipal Election, which includes school boards, municipalities, fire districts, and other political subdivisions, begins today and will close on December 28th at 5 p-m. People who intend to run for school board will register in their school district’s Superintendent of Schools office. Those running for city office will register at their community’s city clerk’s office. Election Day will be Tuesday, April 5th, of next year.
