There’s an attempt to call Branson the “Live Entertainment Capital of Missouri”

There’s an attempt to call Branson the “Live Entertainment Capital of Missouri.” The Missouri House has given initial approval to a bill that aims to tout the southwest Missouri town’s live shows, amusement parks, recreation, and other attractions. Republican Representative Brian Seitz (sites), the bill sponsor, says his city’s entertainment scene attracts about 10 million visitors a year. St. Louis County Democrat Kevin Windham says he’s skeptical because Branson and Taney County are not the most “welcoming” places for Black people. One more vote could send the measure to the Missouri Senate.
