There have been only a few new Pulaski County filings for the August primary in recent days. So far, ten candidates, all Republicans, have filed for various offices that will be up for election this year. Incumbent Eastern District Commissioner of the County Court, Charles Bassett, so far is unopposed for re-election. Western District incumbent commissioner, Andy C. Helms, is being opposed by Wayne Hill. Four candidates now are in the race for Pulaski County Sheriff. They are Bryan Gibbs, Stacy Ball, Rex Larson, and Nick Pappas. Daniel Whittle has filed for re-election as County Assessor, Rebecca (Becky) Allen filed for Public Administrator, and Roger D. Graves filed for re-election as County Coroner. So far, no Democrat has filed for Pulaski County office. Five Republicans have filed for Committee positions in the county. Daniel Whittle has filed for Committeeman of Tavern Township Melissa Whittle has filed for Committeewoman from Tavern Township, David M. Lowe has for Committeeman for Union Township, Tim Berrier for Committeeman of Cullen Township, and David Dicke for Committeeman of Liberty Township. On the Democrat side, Kyle W. Bomar has filed for Committeeman from Tavern Township and Mark Prugh has filed for Committeeman from Cullen Township. The August Primary filing period will run up to 5 p-m March 26th.
