The Waynesville School District has announced that it will host the Community Salute to Service on Wednesday, May 11th, at 6 p-m, in the Waynesville High School Tiger Stadium.
This event is to honor high school seniors from South Central Missouri who are joining the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserves, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, and/or have received an appointment to a military academy. Students and their families from these area high schools are being invited to participate–Camdenton, Crocker, Dixon, Lebanon, Houston, Iberia, Laquey, Conway, Licking, Maries County R-1, Newburg, Osage, Plato, Richland, Rolla, St. James, Stoutland, Tuscumbia, Vienna, and Waynesville.
This semi-formal event will take place Wednesday, May 11th at 6 p-m, at WHS Tiger Stadium, which is located outside the east side of the high school campus at 200 G-W Lane Street in Waynesville. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. A similar event was held in 2019, the year before Covid-19 started impacting the country.
