The U.S. Department of Transportation has stopped SkyWest from ending essential air service to 29 locations, including Fort Leonard Wood until another carrier can be found under the government’s subsidy program. SkyWest intended to end service to these communities on June 8th, but the Transportation Department says SkyWest cannot terminate service through July 8th, and for additional 30-day periods, until another air carrier can be found.
