The State Judicial Redistricting Commission announced its tentative redistricting plan and map for the Missouri Senate

The State Judicial Redistricting Commission announced its tentative redistricting plan and map for the Missouri Senate on Monday. The tentative plans have Pulaski, Laclede, Phelps, Maries, Wright, and Dent in the 16th Senatorial District. Camden, Miller, Morgan, Cole, Moniteau, and Morgan Counties will comprise the 6th Senatorial District. Texas County will join Shannon, Howell, Douglas, Ozark, Taney, and Stone Counties in the 33rd Senatorial District. The goal of the commission was to file a constitutionally compliant plan and map well in advance of the commission’s constitutional deadline to avoid disenfranchising voters given the candidate filing deadline and the deadline for preparing ballots.
