The second death of the year of an offender at South Central Correctional Center

The second death of the year of an offender at South Central Correctional Center in Licking took place on Monday. Correctional Center officials say 75-year-old Larry Scowden was pronounced dead at 2:50 Monday afternoon. Scowden was serving a 5-year sentence for statutory sodomy from Greene county. He was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on October 26th, 2022. Scowden died of apparent natural causes.
