The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an active shooter training course

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an active shooter training course in early August. ALICE training will be held at Waynesville High School on August 10th and 11th. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. The program has been vetted by the FBI and Homeland Security, among other organizations. It is a two-day training course. Pulaski County Detective Sergeant Brian Gibbs says the training takes a couple of forms over the two days.

Gibbs says he’d recommend the training for businesses, as you never know when the knowledge will be needed.

Registration for the course will cost $795 but comes with a 3-year certification. Certification can be extended through a refresher course taken before the end of the 3-year period at no extra cost. Information on registration for the course can either be found online at the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, or by contacting Gibbs directly by calling the Sheriff’s Office at 573-774-6196.
